A clear, recognisable brand identity to support growth and foster local pride in the town

The brand for Grantham supports the journey the town is on as a visitor destination, place to work and live, and location for new business investment.

This project was carried out while at Dsquared Limited.

Live, work and visit

Taking clear direction from the stakeholder survey, and acknowledging the pride, frustrations and ambition for the town, we were able to represent Grantham with a balance of heritage and innovation, ensuring all aspects of the brief were reflected in a simple and versatile logo.

The logo itself took inspiration from St Wulfram’s Church spire and Grantham’s unique street signs, bringing these familiar references together in a modern representation of the town. Avoiding the obvious connections to Grantham as the school town of Sir Isaac Newton and the birthplace of Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, the logo provided a flexible device that allowed all areas of Grantham to be represented.

With exciting new projects in the pipeline, we wanted to support a change in narrative and showcase what Grantham had to offer.
